An unforgettable day trip with Topology
This is the first time I've booked the tour with Topology, the experience with them was fantastic! Penny who has communicated with me from beginning to the end, she is very responsive with all the questions I had or requested, and well informed about tour guide's info and pickup time.
Fun time seems to pass by quickly, Spencer surely made our trip so memorable, we will always remember him and hopefully one day we will meet up again. =)
Amazing trip and amazing guide
It was a very interesting trip. We knew unique places and very beautiful views. I recommend it and thank our guide Mr. Clint Liang for his help and kindness. It was very important that he knew the area so well.
Excellent agency, wonderful tour guide
We were a family of 13 that did 2 private day tours and airport transfers with Topology. Peter was excellent with all communications from the beginning. Airy was a wonderful bilingual guide thar really made us feel at home. The kids in our group also warmed up to her quickly. The included lunches were sumptuous and extensive. They are a little pricey but well worth every penny.
Week in Taiwan
We had an amazing time in Taiwan! Allen from Topology was responsive throughout the planning stages. We have a child with many food allergies and requested an English-speaking guide to accompany us for the entire trip. We could not have been happier with Spencer! We spent 7 days with him touring Taipei, Jiufen, Yehliu National Park, Kaoshiung, and Kenting National Park. He kept that pace quick for the kids and most of our free time was spent exploring different markets sampling street food. Spencer kept my son safe during the entire trip, and by the end he was like a part of the family.
8 day private tour of Taiwan
Our 8 day private tour of Taiwan included Taipei, Jiufen, Shifen, Taroko, Sun Moon, & Taichung. Both our consultant, Vivi, & our driver, Henry, were excellent. We felt well taken care of from beginning to end. Henry was especially accommodating to our changing needs and requests. He was punctual, patient and attentive to our interests, even suggesting extra stops that may appeal to us & taking pictures for us. Despite some minor stomach issues at the first half of the trip (we were not able to eat some of the planned dinners), we still got to see many scenes & sites that surprised us: Taroko gorge was stunning; releasing sky lanterns was fun; the local wet market was lively; the oyster/clam digging area looked like a wet sand desert complete with a windy sand storm. Over all, everything went smoothly, and our group of 4 adults + 1 child, enjoyed our trip immensely. Thank you

Frequently Asked Questions for the Highlights of Taiwan Tour
How to book this small group Taiwan tour?
Please fill out the online form and our tour consultant will contact you.
A deposit of USD 300 is required at the time of booking. The tour will be confirmed 30 days prior to departure based on whether the minimum number of participants has been met.
If the tour does not proceed, registrants may either transfer their booking to another departure date or receive a full refund of the deposit.
Once the tour is confirmed, all participants are required to pay the remaining balance in full.
What if the minimum group size isn’t met? How can I still join the tour?
If the departure you wish to join does not meet the minimum group size, you may choose to join another departure instead.
Alternatively, if the number of registered travelers is below six, the tour can still proceed if all registered participants agree to pay the additional amount needed to reach the minimum group size.
Of course, if you can gather more friends to join, that’s even better!
Why choose Topology Travel’s small group Taiwan tour?
Low minimum group size: Our small-group Taiwan tour requires just 6 travelers per departure to confirm the trip, making it easier for you to join.
High-quality travel experience: The tour is limited to a maximum of 16 travelers, ensuring a comfortable pace and a better experience. In contrast, many tours on the market operate with 20 to 30 people, which can affect the quality of your trip and lead to delays that eat into your sightseeing time. Our small-group format allows you to meet new friends while still enjoying quality time with your family or companions.
Unique experiences only available in small-group tours: We’ve carefully curated Taiwan’s must-see attractions and paired them with rich cultural experiences.
Some experiences, like visiting Indigenous villages, can be expensive on private tours, but through this organized small-group tour, you can enjoy these unique activities at a more accessible price.
Convenient transportation: Many destinations on this itinerary, such as Sun Moon Lake, Alishan, and Indigenous villages in Yilan, are difficult to reach via public transportation. This tour allows you to travel comfortably and efficiently without the high costs of private tours.
Local expertise: Our guides are not only knowledgeable but also passionate about Taiwan. They do more than take you to the attractions—they share fascinating local stories and insider tips, including must-try local delicacies, making your journey truly unforgettable.
Why doesn’t this tour include Itinerary in Taipei?
We understand that it’s challenging for a single itinerary to meet everyone’s needs—unless the tour lasts two weeks or more. Taipei, with its well-developed public transportation system, is relatively easy to explore on your own.
Our small-group Taiwan tour focuses on destinations that are less accessible without private transport, allowing you to experience the hidden gems of Taiwan that are harder to reach independently.
Of course, if you’d like to explore Taipei as well, you are welcome to add our additional tours, such as Taipei city tours, National Palace Museum or Yangmingshan , to complement your journey.
Is this tour suitable for children?
We’re sorry, this tour is only available for travelers aged 18 and above. If you are planning a family trip with children, we recommend our Highlights of Taiwan tour, or you can contact us to design a customized Taiwan itinerary.
Is this tour suitable for seniors?
This tour includes more outdoor activities, such as cycling, hiking, and snorkeling. As long as you assess your physical condition and feel comfortable with these activities, we warmly welcome seniors to join.
Is this itinerary wheelchair accessible?
This itinerary is not wheelchair accessible. If your group includes wheelchair users but wishes to book a similar itinerary, please contact us via TW@topologytravel.com or fill out our Create your Trip form.
Our tour consultant will create a customized itinerary tailored to the needs and comfort of wheelchair users, ensuring an enjoyable and suitable travel experience.
Can you help book round-trip flights?
We’re sorry, but our company does not provide flight booking services. You will need to arrange your own flights to Taiwan.
Can you arrange airport transfers?
Of course! Please let us know at the time of booking if you require airport transfers, and provide your flight dates and numbers.
Can I extend my trip?
Absolutely! You are welcome to extend your stay or book additional tours. Please let us know at the time of reservation.
If I Want to Extend My Trip, Can You Help Me Book Accommodations?
If I’m arriving in Taipei by cruise ship, is this itinerary suitable for me?
As long as you can arrive in Taiwan on the first day of the itinerary and attend our welcome meeting, whether by plane or cruise, this tour is perfectly suitable for you.
What type of accommodation is included in this itinerary? What room types are provided?
Our itinerary clearly indicates the planned accommodations and their star ratings for each day, so please refer to it.
All rooms are set up for double occupancy. Please let us know in advance if you prefer a king/large bed or two twin beds. You may also upgrade to a single room by paying the applicable single supplement.
Can I arrange to stay at a different hotel nearby on my own?
We’re sorry, but since this is a group tour, the itinerary is designed for the entire group to move together, so we cannot accommodate individual hotel arrangements.
If you prefer to stay at a hotel of your choice, please contact us for a customized itinerary.
What about meals since lunch and dinner are not included in the itinerary?
During the tour, your guide will recommend dining options at each stop, and you are free to choose and pay for meals according to your preference.
Sometimes, meal times coincide with visits to old streets or local markets, where exploring and picking your favorite snacks can be more fun than sitting in a set restaurant. Of course, if the group agrees to dine together, the guide can also arrange a shared meal for everyone.
What if I have special dietary requirements—can the meal menu be adjusted to accommodate my needs?
This itinerary exclude most of the meals. However, if you have vegetarian, halal, or other special dietary needs, please let us know in advance. Your guide will recommend suitable dining options along the way.
Please note that in areas outside major cities, such as Alishan, Sun Moon Lake, or Jiufen, halal or Indian restaurants may not be available, and vegetarian options will be provided instead.
What should I prepare before visiting Taiwan?
Please make sure to check whether you need a visa to enter Taiwan.
You can find up-to-date information on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website
If a visa is required, please apply according to the official government regulations
Starting from October 2025, Taiwan has fully implemented electronic entry cards.
Travelers must complete their information on the National Immigration Agency’s TWAC website within three days prior to arriving in Taiwan. This system significantly shortens immigration clearance time and reduces the use of paper. For group travelers, one person can submit the information on behalf of the entire group, making the process even more convenient.
